THE ROLE OF GREEN ECONOMY IN ACHIEVING SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS: CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES IN THE CASE OF UZBEKISTAN

The green economy has emerged as a vital approach to achieving sustainable
development worldwide. This paper examines the role of green economy initiatives in the
context of Uzbekistan's economic transition. The study examines current government
policies that promote renewable energy, resource efficiency, and environmental protection.
Key challenges, including financial constraints, institutional capacity, and public awareness,
are identified. The research highlights the potential benefits of green investments for
economic diversification and job creation. Empirical data and international experiences are
used to support policy recommendations. The paper concludes that a well-structured green
economy strategy can accelerate Uzbekistan's sustainable growth.
